We provide a range of software products from standalone I/O services to individual components of the Diciclo framework.

Standalone I/O Services

We offer ready-to-use client-side standalone software that provides isolated access to several local (Ext4, NTFS, Union) and distributed filesystems (Ceph, NFS).

The main benefit of our product is the I/O isolation provided to each tenant on a shared host. This is enabled by the control and data plane of the I/O service running at user-level as an application rather than inside the system kernel.

The isolation translates to improved efficiency, performance and security for I/O-intensive applications in data processing, databases, software development and web serving.

Software facilities

Proprietary software libraries that implement high-performance interprocess communication methods (data copying, concurrent queueing, event notification) with experimentally validated and/or provable efficiency and performance advantages.

About Polytropo Systems

Polytropo Systems PC is a startup business officially established in 2024 as spinoff from the University of Ioannina, Greece. The main company activities include the design and implementation of systems software for serving data- intensive applications in private or public cloud infrastructures along with the related consulting services for supporting the software integration into the customer facilities.
